Key Roles and Responsibilities
1. Project Design & Engineering
- Lead and contribute to the design and technical delivery of electrical engineering projects.
- Develop concept and detailed designs, specifications, drawings, and contract documentation.
- Take professional responsibility and sign off engineering designs in accordance with ECSA requirements.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required standards.
- Conduct testing, commissioning, inspections, and provide construction support.
2. Power Systems Engineering
- Design and analyse:
- Medium and Low Voltage (MV/LV) power distribution systems (33kV to 400V)
- Substations, transformers, switchgear, and protection systems
- Load flow studies, fault level calculations, and power quality assessments
- Network reliability and optimisation solutions
3. Water, Wastewater & Industrial Systems
- Design and manage Electrical, Control and Instrumentation (EC&I) systems.
- Develop and integrate:
- PLC-based automation systems
- SCADA systems
- Telemetry networks
- Motor Control Centres (MCCs)
- Variable Speed Drives (VSDs)
- Process control and monitoring systems
4. Renewable Energy Projects
- Design, evaluate, commission and optimise:
- Solar PV systems
- Wind energy systems
- Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)
- Hybrid energy solutions
- Support grid integration and energy management systems.
5. Project & Contract Management
- Manage medium to large-scale engineering projects.
- Prepare budgets, proposals, schedules, estimates, and tender documentation.
- Coordinate design, procurement, construction, and commissioning activities.
- Manage project risks, scope changes, and stakeholder expectations.
- Participate in tender evaluations and contractor appointments.
6. Business Development
- Attend tender briefings and contribute to tender submissions.
- Assist with pricing and preparation of technical proposals.
- Support marketing initiatives and help secure new clients and projects.
- Maintain and grow client relationships.
7. Leadership & Mentorship
- Provide technical guidance and supervision to engineering teams.
- Mentor and coach candidate engineers and technologists.
- Participate in technical reviews and development of engineering standards.
- Foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Education & Experience
Minimum Qualifications
- BEng or BSc in Electrical Engineering from a recognised institution.
Professional Registration
- Pr.Eng registration preferred (ECSA) .
- Minimum 5 years post-registration experience preferred.
Experience Required
- 10 or more years of relevant post-degree experience.
- Strong experience in:
- Electrical infrastructure projects
- Municipal and industrial power systems
- Water and wastewater treatment facilities
- Renewable energy systems
- Project management and contract administration

- Electrical power system design and analysis.
- MV/LV reticulation and distribution systems.
- Protection and control systems.
- Renewable energy and grid integration.
- EC&I systems, automation, and SCADA.

- AutoCAD
- Autodesk software suite
