Start free — we apply for you →Our client is seeking a is looking for a highly senior Ecommerce Engineer with strong leadership capability, solid business acumen, and a strategic mindset. This is not purely a technical role — the successful candidate will play a key role in leading and growing the Ecommerce Division within the IT department.
Responsibilities
- Lead ecommerce platform development and technical strategy across the organization
- Drive improvements in scalability, performance, security, and reliability of ecommerce systems
- Manage WooCommerce-based platforms and associated digital infrastructure
- Develop and maintain backend services and integrations using Node.js or PHP
- Oversee API integrations with ERP, CRM, inventory, and payment systems
- Implement SEO and performance optimization strategies to improve traffic and conversion
- Manage deployment pipelines, environments, and release processes
- Ensure data integrity across product catalogues and digital systems
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to align ecommerce strategy with revenue goals
Requirements
- BSc Degree in IT, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (non-negotiable)
- Senior-level experience in ecommerce engineering or digital commerce environments
- Strong expertise in WooCommerce and ecommerce platform architecture
- Backend development experience
- Strong understanding of API design, system integrations, and databases
- Experience with technical SEO and optimization strategies
