- Solid understanding of Prepaid Airtime System workflows and integrations.

Salary package
- CTC market-related and negotiable (depending on the candidate’s skills, experience & qualifications).
- First 3 months of probation period includes only the basic salary. After the 3-month probation period compulsory benefits kick in namely Discovery Key Core Plus medical aid (50% employee contribution & 50% employer contribution) and the Group Life Cover which is 100% paid by the employer.
Job Description
Ideal candidate (with Telecoms experience)
Will possess a unique combination of technical prowess and telecommunications domain expertise to immediately add value:
- Deep understanding of telecoms operational processes, such as subscriber lifecycle management, service provisioning, and regulatory compliance.
- Practical experience integrating with core telecoms systems like Billing Support Systems (BSS), Operations Support Systems (OSS), Mediation, or Rating Engines.
- Appreciation for the high-availability and low-latency requirements typical of telecoms systems, especially those handling real-time transactions (like airtime top-ups).
- Proven ability to design solutions that can handle the massive transaction volumes and subscriber growth inherent to MNO/FNO environments.
- Familiarity with telecoms protocols (e.g., Diameter, SS7/SIGTRAN, SMPP) or integration standards (e.g., REST, SOAP) used for connecting with network elements or third-party providers.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the prepaid airtime value chain, from inventory and distribution (e.g., scratch cards, electronic vending) to redemption and reconciliation.
- Strong focus on system security, fraud detection, and maintaining detailed audit trails for financial and regulatory reporting within the telecoms sector.
- Experience with front-end frameworks (e.g., Angular, React) is a bonus.
Main job functions
- Seeking a Senior Developer who is a .Net Team Lead already who can work very independently, take ownership of the development team, manage, guide and mentor two junior to mid-level developers;
- OR a Senior Developer who doesn’t have an official “Team Lead” job title but has mentored and guided developers in his/her career and who wants to progress to a .Net Team Lead role.
- This role requires a blend of hands-on coding, technical leadership, systems design expertise, and a solid understanding of core telecoms systems, especially Prepaid Airtime Systems, ERP system knowledge and integration experience.
Job functions
Technical Leadership & Development
- Lead a team of developers in the design, development, testing, and deployment of mission-critical software applications using the .Net framework (.Net Core / .Net 5+ / C#).
- Serve as the primary technical point of contact for the development team, providing guidance, mentorship, and code reviews.
- Hands-on development of robust, scalable, and high-performance server-side and client-side systems.
System Design & Architecture
- Define and maintain the systems architecture, ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, and maintainable.
- Spearhead the systems design process, translating business requirements into technical specifications and architectural blueprints.
- Ensure adherence to best practices in software development, including design patterns, coding standards, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD).
- Document and maintain technical specifications.
Database Management
- Design, optimize, and manage complex databases using Microsoft SQL Server (MS SQL).
- Develop high-performance T-SQL queries, stored procedures, and ensure database integrity and security.
- Work closely with database administrators to manage performance tuning and deployment processes.
Minimum Requirements
Experience and qualifications required
- Matric/Senior Certificate plus B.Sc. in Computer Science/relevant IT Degree OR 3-year National IT Diploma is required.
- A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in .Net development with at least 3 years plus minimum experience in a Team Lead/Mentor role.
Mandatory technical requirements
- . Net framework (.Net Core / .Net 5+ / C#).
- Experience with cloud platforms (Azure or AWS).
- CI/CD tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, Jenkins).
- T-SQL and SQL Server.
- Architecture: Proven experience in systems design and architecture (e.g., Microservices, SOA).
- Must have ERP systems development experience (Acumatica ERP preferred) or have experience with other similar systems (MS D365 Business Central, MS D365 F&O, NetSuite, Sage X3, Odoo, Infor CloudSuite, Epicor Kinetic or Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP).
- Must have extensive integration development experience (Acumatica ERP integrates with all of their other applications/systems like Zoho ticketing system, 3CX VOIP, billing systems, Dokka, PaySpace, Sage VIP Payroll, Pace HR etc.)
- Telecoms: Experience working within the FNO/MNO industry or on projects related to these sectors.
- Solid understanding of Prepaid Airtime System workflows and integrations.
