Our Company is seeking a highly skilled Senior Database Administrator (Level 3) to join our team on a 12-month contract. This is an exciting opportunity to work with large-scale SQL Server environments, modern infrastructure technologies, automation frameworks, and cloud-based solutions while making a direct impact on business-critical systems.

Duties

• As a Senior DBA, you'll play a key role in ensuring our database environments remain secure, scalable, highly available, and optimized for peak performance.
• Your Responsibilities:
• Design and maintain High Availability and Disaster Recovery solutions
• Implement and manage complex replication and data movement architectures
• Proactively monitor database environments and resolve performance bottlenecks
• Conduct advanced database tuning using execution plans, profiling tools, and wait statistics
• Lead root cause investigations and implement lasting solutions
• Drive automation initiatives through scripting and self-service tooling
• Support cloud adoption and infrastructure modernization projects
• Ensure compliance, security, auditing, encryption, and access governance
• Create and maintain technical documentation and operational standards
• Mentor and support junior Database Administrators Participate in critical incident response and after-hours support where required

Essential Experience

• 6+ years' experience in enterprise database administration • Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field Strong expertise in SQL Server or other enterprise RDBMS platforms • Proven experience in High Availability, Disaster Recovery, and Replication technologies • Advanced performance tuning and query optimisation skills • Scripting and automation experience (PowerShell, Bash, or Python) • Strong troubleshooting and critical incident management capabilities • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills • Passion for collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement Advantageous Technologies:
