Senior Data Analyst - Finance, BI & Digital Transformation at Datonomy Solutions

We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Analyst to lead the analysis and solution-design phases of digital transformation initiatives across Finance and IT. The role is responsible for understanding existing financial processes, systems, data flows, reporting environments and business intelligence capabilities, and translating these into clearly defined future-state solutions.

The successful candidate will work closely with Finance stakeholders, business users, data modellers, developers, BI teams, project managers and Scrum Masters to design and implement accurate, scalable and technology-enabled reporting and analytics solutions.

This is not a reporting-only position. It requires a strong combination of financial systems knowledge, data analysis, business analysis, data warehousing and solution-design experience.

Key Responsibilities Business and Requirements Analysis

Lead the analysis and solution-design phases of digital transformation projects.

• Engage with Finance, IT and operational stakeholders to understand business objectives, challenges and reporting requirements.

• Facilitate workshops and requirement-gathering sessions with enterprise stakeholders.

• Analyse and document current business processes, applications, system architecture, data flows and reporting environments.

• Translate complex business, financial and data requirements into clear functional and technical specifications.

• Simplify complex issues and communicate requirements effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Identify requirements for new applications, processes or system enhancements where existing solutions do not meet business needs.

• Present proposed solutions, process changes and future-state designs to stakeholders for validation and approval.

Financial and Operational Data Analysis

Analyse large and complex financial, banking and operational datasets.

• Conduct detailed data profiling, scoping and data-quality assessments.

• Perform deep-dive analysis to understand how transactions and operational activities flow into daily, weekly, monthly and annual reporting.

• Work with business and technical teams to develop financial and operational data models.

• Investigate discrepancies, data-quality issues and reporting inaccuracies.

• Ensure that all data, calculations, business rules and reporting outputs delivered through the solution are complete, accurate and auditable.

• Identify patterns, trends and insights that can support improved business and financial decision-making.

Reporting and Business Intelligence

Define the future state of financial reporting, operational reporting and business intelligence solutions.

• Design visual reports, dashboards, insights and analytical outputs based on stakeholder requirements.

• Work closely with BI and reporting teams to ensure that reporting solutions accurately reflect business and financial requirements.

• Translate reporting requirements into specifications that developers, data modellers and BI specialists can implement.

• Identify opportunities to automate manual reporting processes and recurring analytical activities.

• Recommend improvements that enhance reporting accuracy, efficiency, usability and business value.

Data and Solution Design

Design solutions that consider the full operating environment, including people, processes, data and technology.

• Work with data modellers and developers to define data structures, transformation rules, calculations and integration requirements.

• Support the design and enhancement of data warehouse and business intelligence solutions.

• Define how information should move between source systems, financial platforms, data warehouses and reporting tools.

• Identify data gaps, system limitations and process weaknesses that may prevent the business from achieving its desired outcomes.

• Recommend appropriate application, software, reporting and systems enhancements.

• Ensure that proposed solutions are scalable, maintainable and aligned with enterprise architecture and data standards.

Solution Delivery and Implementation

Collaborate with project managers, Scrum Masters, developers, data modellers and BI teams throughout the delivery lifecycle.

• Provide clarification and ongoing support to technical teams during solution development.

• Review developed solutions to confirm alignment with documented requirements and business rules.

• Lead or support the rollout of new technical solutions, reporting capabilities and process changes.

• Assist with testing, data validation, reconciliation and implementation readiness.

• Identify implementation risks, dependencies and challenges and recommend appropriate mitigation actions.

• Support stakeholders during solution adoption and transition into the new operating environment.

Continuous Improvement and Stakeholder Management

Build strong relationships with Finance, IT and business stakeholders.

• Provide expert advice on data, reporting, financial systems and process-improvement opportunities.

• Identify solution gaps, operational inefficiencies and areas where customers can improve their return on investment.

• Continuously explore opportunities to improve systems, processes, reporting and data quality.

• Plan and recommend future solution enhancements.

• Share project knowledge, lessons learned and analytical approaches with the wider team.
