Introduction

The purpose of this role is to fulfill a specialist function in respect of managing the administration and reporting of Botswana payroll, in line with applicable legislative requirements. In addition, this role is to fulfill an administrative support function within the Finance Department in respect of effectively managing all creditor’ accounts for the business.

Key Responsibilities

Payroll Administration

  • Administer and process payroll transactions accurately and within prescribed deadlines.
  • Ensure payroll payments are processed correctly and timeously.
  • Maintain payroll records, reports, and supporting documentation.
  • Manage payroll queries and provide professional support to employees and stakeholders.
  • Ensure the integrity, confidentiality, and security of payroll information

Payroll Compliance and reporting

  • Ensure compliance with applicable payroll legislation and statutory requirements.
  • Administer statutory deductions and ensure payroll accuracy.
  • Compile and submit monthly payroll reports and ad hoc reporting requirements

Finance and Creditors Administration

  • Process invoices and creditor payments in line with company procedures.
  • Perform bank and general ledger reconciliations.
  • Maintain creditor records and filing systems.
  • Manage petty cash administration and support EFT payment processes.
  • Resolve supplier queries and follow up on outstanding invoices

Assist with ad hoc tasks as and when required .

Qualifications and Experience Required

  • AAT qualification or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • NQF Level 6 qualification.
  • Minimum of 1 to 3 years' payroll administration experience.

Skills and Competencies Required

  • Computer literacy is essential.
  • Sage ACCPAC experience will be advantageous.
  • Strong attention to detail and exceptional levels of accuracy.
  • Excellent administrative and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Additional African language proficiency will be advantageous
