MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Grade 12
- National Diploma in Journalism/Public Relations/ Communications/Media Studies/Marketing or relevant fi eld.
- Minimum three 3 years' relevant experience in communication environment Excellent interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Planning and organisational skills
- Strong editing, proofreading and content development abilities Valid Code B Driving License
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
- Contribute to the development, implementation and mreview of communication strategies, policies and operational plans.
- Develop, write, edit and proofread a variety of communication materials, including press releases, newsletters, reports and promotional content.
- Manage, update and maintain the Municipality's website and official social media platforms to ensure timely and accurate communication.
- Respond to media enquiries and facilitate media relations in consultation with the Supervisor.
- Monitor media coverage, analyse communication performance and prepare reports with recommendations for improvement.
- Assist in planning, organising, and coordinating corporate events, awareness campaigns, conferences, and community engagement programmes.
- Ensure that all communication materials and activities comply with the Municipality's Corporate Identity and Branding Guidelines.
- Maintain and update communication databases, media contact lists, photographic records, and digital content archives
