Amandla Building & Construction (Pty) Ltd is seeking an experienced, hands-on and results-driven Senior Building Foreman to join our construction team.
Duties & Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day supervision and coordination of building and renovation projects , ensuring that work is completed safely, efficiently, to specification and within the required programme.
The Senior Foreman will coordinate labour and subcontractors, monitor workmanship, plan daily activities, manage materials and resources, identify site problems early and work closely with the Site Agent/Project Manager to achieve project milestones.
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Minimum 15 years’ proven experience in the building construction industry
- Extensive experience in the construction, refurbishment and renovation of schools
- Strong experience in general building works, alterations and additions
- Ability to manage multiple subcontractors and construction teams
- Excellent knowledge of building methods, finishes and quality standards
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Strong understanding of construction programmes, deadlines and productivity targets
- Experience coordinating brickwork, concrete, roofing, ceilings, plastering, tiling, painting, plumbing, electrical and finishing trades
- Strong focus on quality control and workmanship
- Good understanding of construction health and safety requirements
- Ability to manage materials, labour, plant and daily site activities efficiently
- Must be able to work independently and take responsibility for delivering the project
- Valid driver’s licence
- Must be willing to work away from home when required
- Sober habits are essential
Package & Remuneration
Market-related and negotiable depending on qualifications and experience.
