Senior Bookkeeper Position

SENIOR BOOKKEEPER

About the Position

We are a well-known and respected catering equipment supplier. We have an urgent vacancy for an experienced, motivated, energetic, and well-presented bookkeeper. The person needs to be fully operational in Pastel and would be performing daily bookkeeping / accounting functions.

Roles & Responsibilities:

assisting with bank processing and reconciliations

doing customer and supplier reconciliations

assisting with debit and credit returns

managing the fixed asset register

reviewing expenses

payroll commissions and attendance

assisting with timely bank payments

posting journal entries

client liaison

preparing checks for payments

general ledger

journals

general accounting functions

preparing monthly management accounts

monthly tax calculations and reconciliations

intercompany invoicing

To succeed in the role you will need:

A relevant Accounting Degree or Diploma

Completed articles advantageous

3-5 years industry experience

Excellent working knowledge of Pastel

Any FAIS exposure would be an advantage

Desired Skills

Advanced Accounting knowledge

Mature, honest, accurate and responsible

Must be experienced in payroll

Driver's license and own car

Attention to detail

Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)

Strong analytical and numerical skills

Desired Qualification Accreditation

BCom Degree

Diploma in Finance or Business Management

3-5 years relevant accounting or bookkeeping experience
