Job Title: Senior AWS Architect Start Date: 2026-07-14 - 2026-08-13 Vacancy Type: Permanent CPT006083 Sectors: Information Technology Location: South Africa , South Africa Salary: R 1 100 000 - R 1 400 000 Annually Cost To Company (Market related) Brief: aws architect|iac|netowrking|security Senior AWS Architect Johannesburg / Cape Town R 1.1 - R 1.4 million Architect the cloud platforms that power global enterprises Detail: Enterprise cloud architecture on AWS , with exposure to multi-cloud and hybrid-cloud landscapes Infrastructure automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) Secure-by-design cloud platforms aligned to governance and compliance standards DevOps and CI/CD enablement for modern cloud-native workloads Client-facing architecture leadership and stakeholder engagement Key Responsibilities Architect and design end-to-end AWS cloud solutions aligned to business and technical requirements Define and maintain cloud reference architectures , patterns, and best practices Lead architecture and technical design workshops with senior stakeholders Design and implement highly available, fault-tolerant, and scalable systems Build and maintain IaC using Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or CDK Embed security, identity, networking, and compliance controls into cloud designs Collaborate closely with DevOps, application, and security teams to enable CI/CD pipelines Drive cost optimisation , performance tuning, and cloud operational excellence Provide technical leadership, guidance, and mentoring to engineering teams Stay current with cloud platform capabilities and recommend innovative, fit-for-purpose solutions Required Technical Experience 5–7+ years' experience in cloud architecture and engineering Expert-level experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) , including services such as: EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda VPC, IAM, CloudWatch ECS / EKS Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, CDK) Solid understanding of cloud networking, security, identity, and compliance Experience working with DevOps and container platforms (Docker, Kubernetes) Exposure to CI/CD tooling (e.g. Jenkins, Git-based workflows) Strong documentation, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills Preferred / Advantageous Experience AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional (highly preferred) Experience in hybrid and/or multi-cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP, private cloud) Experience supporting large enterprises , regulated industries, or global platforms Knowledge of serverless and microservices-based architectures Familiarity with monitoring and observability tooling (Datadog, Prometheus, ELK stack) Background in software development or scripting (Python, Bash, etc.) show more...
