We are seeking an experienced Senior Application Developer to join our client in insurance industry based Johannesburg. This is a full-time, office-based role initially offered as a 6-month contract, with the opportunity for permanent employment based on performance and business requirements. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, maintaining, and supporting enterprise-level applications while working closely with business stakeholders and technical teams.
Duties & Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable applications using C# and the .NET Framework.
- Develop and maintain ASP.NET MVC and ASP.NET Web Forms applications.
- Build and integrate RESTful Web APIs and Web Services.
- Design, optimize, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server databases, stored procedures, functions, and queries.
- Develop and maintain SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) reports.
- Collaborate with business analysts, developers, and QA teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.
- Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
- Troubleshoot and resolve application issues and performance bottlenecks.
- Support application deployments using Azure DevOps/DevOps pipelines.
- Prepare technical documentation and provide ongoing production support.
- Participate in Agile development ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Desired Experience & Qualification
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 5+ years' experience in software development using Microsoft technologies.
- Proven experience developing enterprise applications.
