Senior Analyst Developer (12-Month Contract)

Introduction

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Analyst Developer to join a large-scale Payment Ecosystem Modernisation Programme. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing, maintaining, supporting, and enhancing critical national payment solutions while ensuring the stability, performance, and ongoing sustainability of enterprise payment platforms.

This position requires a highly skilled professional who combines strong business analysis capabilities with hands-on software development experience within enterprise environments.

Duties & Responsibilities

Business Analysis

• Engage with business stakeholders and business analysts to understand business requirements.

• Analyse existing business processes and identify opportunities for system improvements.

• Translate business requirements into functional and technical specifications.

• Conduct impact assessments for new developments and system enhancements.

Solution Design

• Design scalable, maintainable enterprise applications.

• Produce technical and functional design documentation.

• Participate in architecture discussions and technical design reviews.

• Ensure solutions align with enterprise architecture standards and best practices.

Software Development

• Design, develop and maintain enterprise applications.

• Build new functionality and implement system enhancements.

• Resolve software defects and production issues.

• Follow secure coding standards and development best practices.

• Perform code reviews and unit testing.

Testing & Quality Assurance

• Support System Integration Testing (SIT).

• Participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT).

• Resolve testing defects.

• Assist with test planning and execution.

• Ensure applications meet quality, security and performance standards.

Production Support

• Provide second- and third-line application support.

• Investigate and resolve production incidents.

• Perform preventative application maintenance.

• Support change, incident and problem management processes.

• Ensure system availability and operational stability.

Documentation

• Maintain technical documentation.

• Produce functional specifications.

• Develop technical manuals and user guides.

• Prepare deployment documentation and release notes.

• Participate in knowledge transfer sessions with technical teams.

Key Deliverables

The successful candidate will be responsible for

• Developing and maintaining enterprise payment applications.

• Building solutions according to approved technical designs.

• Supporting IBM MQ integrations and web applications.

• Producing high-quality technical and functional documentation.

• Participating in requirements workshops.

• Maintaining architecture documentation and operating procedures.

• Preparing deployment documents, release notes and change requests.

• Supporting application maintenance, upgrades and security patching.

• Delivering solutions that comply with governance, change control and release management standards.

• Maintaining service levels of 98% or higher.

Desired Experience & Qualification

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or an equivalent tertiary qualification.

Experience

• Minimum 8 years' experience as a Senior Developer or Technical Specialist.

• Proven experience within enterprise software development and application support environments.

• Experience across the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
