Our reputable Engineering client is seeking an experienced Semi-Skilled / Skilled Boilermaker based in Amanzimtoti.
Purpose of the Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, fitting, and repairing piping systems and structural steel components in accordance with engineering drawings and company quality standards. The role requires someone who can work independently while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality workmanship, and meeting production deadlines.

Key Responsibilities
- Fabricate and assemble piping systems according to engineering drawings and specifications.
- Perform pipe fabrication, pipe fitting, cutting, measuring, bending and installation.
- Fabricate, assemble and repair structural steel components.
- Read and interpret engineering, isometric and general arrangement drawings.
- Measure, mark, cut, shape and assemble metal components accurately.
- Prepare components for welding and complete fit-up work.
- Operate fabrication equipment and power tools safely.
- Ensure all work complies with company quality standards and safety regulations.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area.
- Work independently and within a team to meet project deadlines.
- Represent the company professionally while working on client sites.
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum 5 years' Boiler making experience.
- Semi-Skilled or Qualified Boilermaker.
- Previous experience within an engineering or fabrication environment.
- Valid driver's licence.
- Own reliable transport.
- Able to work both on-site and in the workshop.
- Physically fit and capable of working within an industrial environment.
Essential Experience
- Applicants must have proven experience in:
- Pipe fabrication (approximately 80% of the role)
- Pipe fitting
- Pressure piping
- Pipe spooling
- Structural steel fabrication (approximately 20% of the role)
- Stainless steel fabrication
- Carbon steel fabrication
- Reading engineering drawings
- Reading isometric drawings
- Reading general arrangement drawings
- Industry experience within the following sectors will be highly advantageous:
- Heavy Engineering
- Manufacturing
- Petrochemical
- Construction
- Pressure Vessel fabrication
Equipment Experience
- Candidates should be familiar with:
- Plasma cutters
- Grinding equipment
- General fabrication hand tools and workshop equipment
Advantageous
- Trade Tested Boilermaker
- Welding knowledge (MIG, TIG or Stick) – not essential as dedicated welders are employed, but advantageous.
- Experience working on industrial sites.
- Strong understanding of fabrication quality standards.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
Working Environment
- Approximately 90% Site Work
- Approximately 10% Workshop Work
- No regular travel required.
- Weekend work may occasionally be required for emergency breakdowns or client requests.
