Our client, a well-established manufacturer based in Maraisburg (Roodepoort, West Rand) That specialize manufacturing components in the Entertainment Industry, is seeking a motivated and reliable Semi-Skilled Boilermaker to join their production team. The successful candidate will need to have experience in sheet metal fabrication, the ability to read engineering drawings, and a strong understanding of manufacturing processes. This position is ideal for an individual who takes pride in producing high-quality work and thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Manufacture and assemble Entertaiment Structures according to engineering drawings.
- Measure, mark off, cut, drill, grind, and prepare materials.
- Fit and assemble fabricated components to specification.
- Operate fabrication equipment, including:
- Guillotine
- Press Brake
- Bandsaw
- Pedestal Drill
- Perform basic CO2 welding where required.
- Ensure all manufactured components meet quality standards and specified tolerances.
- Report defects or production issues to the supervisor.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work area.
- Follow all company health and safety procedures.
- Assist with general production activities as required.
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Grade 12 (Matric) (Prefferably)
- 2 to 5 years' experience in a boilermaking or sheet metal fabrication environment.
- Experience manufacturing steel or aluminium components.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Good understanding of measurements, tolerances, and fabrication techniques.
- Ability to use measuring equipment accurately (Tape Measure, Vernier Caliper, Steel Rule, Combination Square, etc.) VERY IMPORTANT
- Experience using hand and power tools safely.
- Physically fit and able to work in a manufacturing environment.
- Willing to work overtime when required.
- Excellent measuring and marking-off skills.
- Good understanding of fabrication methods.
- High attention to detail.
- Strong quality focus.
- Good problem-solving ability.
- Ability to work independently and within a team.
- Good communication skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and self-motivated.
