Description

Assist Mechanical Technicians with scheduled and unscheduled aircraft maintenance;
Assist with the stripping and reassembly of aircraft interior / cargo compartments;
Remove and reinstall cargo liners, floor panels, insulation blankets and interior panels under supervision;
Assist with aircraft component removal and installation as directed;
Assist with opening and closing aircraft access panels;
Prepare aircraft and work areas before maintenance activities;
Assist with cleaning aircraft structures, components and work areas;
Assist with movement of aircraft components, tooling and equipment;
Retrieve and return tooling, materials and consumables as required;
Support with aircraft inspections by providing access and support to technicians;
Maintain good housekeeping standards within the hangar and work areas;
Ensure tooling and equipment are cleaned and returned after use;
Comply with all company procedures, OEM maintenance data and SACAA regulations;
Wear and correctly use the required personal protective equipment PPE in accordance with company safety procedures;
Report unsafe conditions, damaged equipment or hazards immediately;
Support other Heavy Maintenance sections when operationally required;
Carry out any other reasonable duties as instructed by management.

Requirements

Grade 12 or Equivalent Essential;
Minimum 1 year of experience working within an aviation maintenance environment with hands-on exposure to aircraft maintenance Essential;
Experience assisting with aircraft maintenance activities Advantageous;
Experience with aircraft interior removal and installation Advantageous;
Must be physically fit to work in an aircraft maintenance environment;
Must be available to work shifts, weekends and public holidays when operationally required;
Must be prepared to work overtime when required;
Must be willing to work in confined spaces and at heights;
Basic knowledge of aircraft maintenance practices;
Basic understanding of aircraft safety requirements;
Knowledge of aircraft hand tools and workshop equipment;
Understanding of aircraft maintenance environments;
Basic understanding of aircraft interior and cargo compartment components;
Basic knowledge of housekeeping and FOD control;
Good mechanical aptitude;
Ability to follow instructions accurately;
Good communication skills;
Good teamwork skills;
Good organisational skills;
Ability to perform physically demanding work;
Ability to work under pressure;
Basic problem-solving ability.
