Security Manager

Description

Main Purpose The primary purpose is the management of physical security and protection of all COMPANY assets, personnel, perimeters, buildings, visitors, customers, etc. Such protection must always include the effective prevention and management of any security threats posed against COMPANY by providing an effective security strategy and solution for COMPANY, PAN Africa.

Physical Security Governance and Compliance

• Continuously developing and updating of physical security industry standard policies and procedures within South Africa and providing an advisory role to the rest of Africa. These policies and procedures are required to ensure compliance with security standards and practices within COMPANY. Critical to protection of assets and staff and plays a key role in terms of customer satisfaction and retention of services.

• Developing and updating of Security Policies and Procedures for all COMPANY facilities within South Africa and playing an advisory role to the rest of Africa.

• Continuously developing and updating of all security processes to ensure proper functionality and efficiency by means of implementing of security improvements and assessing current environments in all facilities. Evaluating trends and anticipating requirements to meet necessary security standards and maximize proficiency in conjunction with other departments.

• Developing and updating all physical security processes within all COMPANY facilities within South Africa to ensure maximum proficiency.

• Achieving compliance with all audits, e.g. ISO9001, ISO27001, PCI, ISAE3402, etc as well as all internal audits. Such audits within the Security environment directly contributes to the business at large to obtain and maintain all required certifications.

• Ensuring compliance with international audit standards for both internal and external audits for all COMPANY facilities within South Africa.

• Creating and conducting quality audits within physical security workstream. This includes the daily, weekly and monthly assessment of operational services rendered by security vendors.

• Responsible for performance management of all subordinates and service suppliers.

• Evaluating and managing of annual tender process within security workstream. This includes the drawing up of scope of works, evaluating RFP submissions, chairing of panel discussions and interviews, conducting the technical scoring and follow through until final appointment is concluded.

• Participation in security tender for the appointment of a vendor for all COMPANY.

• Conducting site orientation and support to appointed vendor. Day-to-day managing and evaluating of services delivered by security vendor on all COMPANY facilities within South Africa. Establish and maintain correct staffing levels to effectively accomplish goals and objectives.

• Security vendor contract management for operational physical security service delivery within all COMPANY facilities in South Africa.

• Ensure participation and provide leadership on various committee meetings and process improvement teams, acting in an advisory capacity

• Collaboration and participation on all appropriate platforms to promote COMPANY collective objectives.

Physical Security Operations Management

• Management of and ensuring appropriate access control measures are created and implemented across all COMPANY facilities within South Africa 24/7/365. This includes the enforcement and continuous monitoring of such controls for all personnel, customers, contractors, visitors, deliveries, etc., and includes the perimeter and all areas within the Data Centre. Also, exercise access control by means of available access control systems. This entails the recording of all information, conducting identity verification, the issuing of access cards, escorting and access management.

• Perform a complete oversight role for the management of access control within all COMPANY facilities in South Africa with the objective of securing all assets and personnel.

• Monitoring of close circuit television video and surveillance cameras within all COMPANY facilities within South Africa on a 24/7/365 basis. This includes the monitoring and tracking of all movements in and around facilities where appropriate.

• Perform a complete oversight role for all close circuit television cameras operations within all COMPANY facilities security control rooms.

• Creating and maintaining effective key control mechanisms within all COMPANY facilities. This includes the issuing, securing and management of all keys to all doors within the facility.

• Perform a complete oversight role for the effective management of key controls with all COMPANY facilities.

• The effective management and coordination of security services in compliance with the contractual requirements between COMPANY and the security service provider to ensure sound service delivery in line with SLA’s entered. This is done on a daily, weekly and monthly basis to promote the effective physical security management of all COMPANY facilities within South Africa.

• Management of physical security contract between COMPANY and security service provider.

• Ensuring that all security systems are functioning optimally and providing the required quality and standard. Continuous collaboration with COMPANY Infrastructure department to ensure this is achieved.

• Ensuring security systems upkeep and improvement where appropriate.

• Enforce and ensure compliance with prescribed physical security policies within all COMPANY facilities in South Africa. These policies require continuous updating and aligned to the evolving physical security posture within the facilities. The physical security policy governs, monitors, controls, defines and restricts physical threats to COMPANY facilities.

• Monitoring and enforcing compliance with COMPANY physical security policies.

• Enforce and ensure compliance with all physical security procedures which includes the steps to be followed in order to implement the physical security policies which are designed with the objective of safeguarding and protecting all access to COMPANY facilities, personnel, assets and information. The objective is to provide guidance against potential threats to COMPANY facilities within South Africa.

• Monitoring and enforcing compliance with COMPANY physical security procedures.

• Complete oversight of daily control room operations and all reception areas within COMPANY. This includes alarm monitoring, intruder detection and risk mitigation.

• Accountable for oversight role and provide guidance and support

• Commissioning of investigations or RCA’s, which includes the effective management and response to incidents which occur on all COMPANYfacilities. All reported incidents require appropriate investigative measures which includes

• Oversight over all investigations, by commissioning and signing off. Also, provide continuous guidance throughout the investigations.

• Creating of incident response matrix and plan which is a set of written instructions that outlines a method for responding to physical security related incidents with the objective of limiting and mitigating security breaches, near misses, etc. and escalating such where appropriate.

• Perform a shared oversight role with security service provider by creating and maintaining an incident response plan.

• Coordinate intelligence gathering efforts with the objective of preventing and limiting any threats posed against COMPANY's physical security posture. This includes collaboration, liaison and networking with key stakeholders within the law enforcement fraternity. Building rapport and maintain such relationships to the benefit of the company as a whole.

• Ensure strengthening of intelligence capabilities of the benefit of the company.
