Requirements
A security guard that has PSIRA registration mandatory- must be supplied on application
Clear criminal record- Police Clearance must be supplied on application
Guardhouse security experience an advantage
Duties & Responsibilities
SECURITY GUARD
- Access Control & Monitoring: Montiroing survelliance cameras (CCTV) and alarm systems. Controlling entrances and screening visitors, employees, and vehicles to prevent unathorized access
- Patrols & Inspection: Performing regular, random, or scheduled foot/vehicle patrols of the facility, including perimeter checks. Inspecting buildings for unsecured doors, hazards, and safety violations
- Emergency Responses & Safety: Acting as first respondent to emergencies (e.g., fires, medical incidents, security breaches). Assisting in evacuations and coordinating with law enforcement or emergency services
- Reporting & Coomunication: Maintaining detailed incidednt reports and daily activity logs. Using two-way radios to communicate security updates clearly
- Conflict Resolution & Enforcement: Detaining trespassers or suspects until authorities arrive. Enforcing company policies and protecting staff from potential dangers
SECURITY GUARD SUPERVISOR
- Manage and supervise the daily performance of the Secutiry Team
- Conduct risk assessments and ensure strict adherence to all security policies and procedures
- Oversee access control, CCTV monitoring, and incident response
- Ensure compliance with internal standards, PSIRA regulations, and health & safety policies
- Execute regular security audits and coordinate investigations when required
- Prepare shidy rosters, reports, and escalation briefs for management
- Support client interactions with professionalism and discretion
- Conduct ongoing training and performance evaluation for all staff
Desired Experience & Qualification
SECURITY GUARD
- Grade 12- Matric or Senior Certificate
- Security related qualification
- PSIRA
- A minimum of 1-3 years experience in gatehouse security (guestohouse, hotel, residential property, or similar)
SECURITY GUARD SUPERVISOR
- Minimum 3-5 years' supervisory experience in gatehouse security (guesthouse, hotel, residential property, or similar)
- Security related qualification
- Strong command of security technology systems & surveillance controls
- Excellent communication, leadership, and conflict-resolution skills
- Attention to detail with the ability to respond swiftly under pressure
- Ability to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays when required
- High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism
