This opportunity offers exposure to a diverse and evolving technology landscape, where you'll work across cloud platforms, identity management, endpoint security, network security, and security automation. As part of a dedicated security team, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining critical security controls while supporting initiatives that improve the organisation's overall security maturity. You'll collaborate closely with infrastructure, development, and operations teams to identify risks, strengthen defences, and ensure security best practices are embedded across the business. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys technical problem-solving, investigating security threats, and driving meaningful improvements in enterprise security environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor, implement, and improve security controls across cloud, network, endpoint, and identity environments

• Investigate and remediate security vulnerabilities, risks, and configuration weaknesses

• Manage identity and access controls, including authentication and privileged access processes

• Administer endpoint security solutions and contribute to threat detection and response activities

• Support network and perimeter security initiatives, including firewall and access control management

• Investigate and respond to security incidents, performing root cause analysis and coordinating remediation efforts

• Manage vulnerability assessment and remediation activities across the environment

• Develop and maintain security automation to improve operational efficiency

• Support audit, compliance, and governance requirements through technical control implementation and reporting

Job Experience and Skills Required

• Matric / Grade 12

• Relevant qualification in Information Technology, Cyber Security, Computer Science, or a related field

• 3-5 years' experience in Security Engineering, Security Operations, Cyber Security Administration, or a related role

• Experience working within enterprise cloud and security environments

• Proven exposure to incident response, vulnerability management, and security operations

• Strong understanding of Identity and Access Management (IAM)

• Experience securing cloud-based environments

• Knowledge of endpoint security technologies and threat detection tools

• Solid networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, and network segmentation

• Scripting experience using PowerShell or similar technologies

• Experience working with APIs and automation tools

• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and investigative capabilities

• Relevant security certifications advantageous

• Exposure to SIEM, cloud security, container security, or infrastructure automation technologies beneficial

• Knowledge of security frameworks and governance standards advantageous

• Strong communication and documentation skills

• Ability to perform effectively during high-pressure security incidents

• Willingness to participate in after-hours incident escalation processes when required
