To be successful in this role, you will need strong end-to-end knowledge of cybersecurity, infrastructure, engineering and risk with any experience working within Software-as-a-Service being bonus. Duties & Responsibilities

You want to

  • Ensure all security platforms are effective (e.g. SIEM, PAM, detect and response, etc.)
  • Ensure the integrity of security infrastructure, network and systems design to evaluate and ensure system/network security
  • Identify potential weaknesses and implementation of measures, such as firewalls and encryption
  • Design and implement new security systems or upgrading and configuring existing ones
  • Manage and maintain infrastructure and security technical solutions and analyse new security tools to help mitigate security vulnerabilities and automate repeatable tasks
  • Assist in evaluations and POCs for security vendors, tools, and services
  • Perform detailed technical security reviews of new systems or architectures
  • Constantly challenge existing practices and processes and suggest improvements. Develop, implement and share best practices
  • Support the simulation of security breaches and recovery scenarios
  • Support the information security analyst in monitoring and respond to attacks, intrusions and unusual, unauthorised or illegal activity including 'phishing' emails and 'pharming' activities
  • Monitoring network usage to ensure compliance with security policies
  • Keep up to date with developments in cybersecurity, emerging threats and leverage AI technologies to enhance security operations, automation and threat detection
  • Make use of DAST / SAST tools and perform Penetration testing to find flaws
  • Architecture and design of automated environments that systematically test our network
  • Make sure company is compliant with local, national and global regulations, especially in areas like privacy regulations
  • Management of security incidents
  • Educating colleagues about security software and best practices for information security
  • Work collaboratively and where necessary integrate with the other technology teams

Desired Experience & Qualification

You have

  • Innovative approach to industry challenges.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in computer engineering/science is preferred
  • Innovative approach to industry challenges.
  • Proficiency in industry standards (ISO27001, NIST, CIS, MITRE ATT&CK) with implementation experience and awareness of emerging AI security practices (beneficial)
  • Deep technical competencies in networking, Endpoint, and Cloud Security.
  • Qualification and/or working towards industry certifications
  • Security engineering(beneficial)
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure Monitoring, Orchestration, and SIEM tools.
  • Experience in SOC, both Defensive and Offensive security engineering (beneficial)
  • Experience Documenting the configuration of the system and the procedures for its use
  • Experience Monitoring system performance and ensuring system security
  • Experience Providing technical support and guidance to users
  • Experience with scripting, automation and utilising AI tools to improve workflows and operational efficiency
  • Extensive experience working as an infrastructure or security engineer
  • Detailed technical knowledge of database and operating system security
  • Experience with network technologies and with system, security, and network monitoring tools. Ability to review system changes for security implications and recommending improvements
  • Understanding of cybersecurity methodologies
  • Relevant Security and Information certifications
  • Windows/Linux/Networking experience
  • Incident response
  • SIEM operations or SIEM experience
  • Ability to multitask with a calm demeanour and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. One of five potential security-related certifications or capacity to acquire a public trust security clearance is an added advantage
