Security Defence and Operation Lead

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Security Defense & Operations Lead to take ownership of incident response, vulnerability management, and security operations within a dynamic technology environment. In this role, the ideal candidate will be responsible for strengthening the organization's security posture by coordinating the response to cyber threats, overseeing remediation efforts, and ensuring critical security controls remain effective. You will work closely with Security Operations, IT, DevSecOps, and Compliance teams to minimize risk, maintain regulatory compliance, and support business continuity. Duties & Responsibilities

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Lead the remediation of security incidents identified by the Security Operations Center (SOC).

• Drive vulnerability management initiatives, ensuring risks are prioritized and resolved efficiently.

• Validate incident resolution and patching activities across the environment.

• Manage and optimize Endpoint Detection & Response (EDR) solutions and network security controls.

• Develop and maintain incident response procedures, playbooks, and operational processes.

• Monitor and manage third-party security service providers against agreed service levels.

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align security operations with business and regulatory requirements.

Essential Skills, Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

• Relevant cybersecurity certifications such as CISSP, GCIH, CEH, Security+, or CySA+.

• Microsoft security certifications (SC-200, SC-300, SC-900) advantageous.

• Experience with Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, Microsoft Sentinel, and the Microsoft security ecosystem.

• Strong knowledge of incident response, vulnerability management, threat remediation, and EDR platforms.
