- Supreme processing has an opportunity available for a Section Head in the Dry Stores department.
- The purpose of the position is to oversee the daily operations and workflow of the dry ingredients storage area and supervise the team in the area. The successful candidate will report to the Stores Manager.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12
- Higher certificate or diploma in Supply chain management would be advantageous.
- 3-5 years' experience working in a dry ingredients store.
- Previous experience in warehouse management, inventory control, or food storage operations is essential.
- Experience in a supervisory or team leadership role is preferred.
- Valid forklift licence advantageous
- Computer Skills: Proficiency in using inventory management software and basic computer applications is required.

- Familiarity with food safety and quality standards is crucial.
- Knowledge of relevant regulations and best practices for storing dry ingredients is essential.
- Strong organizational skills are needed to manage inventory, scheduling, and team tasks efficiently.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are necessary to interact with suppliers, team members, and other departments effectively.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities to motivate and guide the storekeeping team in achieving organizational goals.
- Ability to identify and resolve issues related to inventory management and storage processes.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Inventory Management: Monitor and maintain accurate records of all dry ingredients and raw materials in the storage area. Implement efficient stock control practices to avoid shortages and wastage.
- Receiving and Inspection: Oversee the receiving process of dry ingredients, verifying quantities and quality according to company standards. Coordinate with suppliers and production teams to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.
- Storage and Organization: Supervise the proper storage and organization of dry ingredients, following food safety guidelines and FIFO first-in-first-out principles to prevent spoilage or expiration.
- Team Management: Lead and motivate the storekeeping team, providing guidance and training as required. Schedule work shifts and allocate tasks effectively to ensure optimal productivity.
- Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure that the dry ingredients storage area adheres to all health and safety regulations, including proper handling and storage practices, and the use of personal protective equipment PPE as required.
- Quality Control: Collaborate with the quality control department to perform regular inspections and sampling of dry ingredients to maintain product quality and consistency.
- Data and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of inventory levels, transactions, and any incidents related to dry ingredients. Prepare regular reports for management on stock status and performance.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement in the storage area and implement best practices to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
- Housekeeping: Ensure Housekeeping in and around Store is maintained according to the standard.
- Ad hock tasks as required to do so by management from time to time
