- Grade 12
- A relevant qualification in horticulture will be an added advantage
- At least six months' relevant experience in a horticultural environment
- A valid Code C1/EC1 driving licence with a valid professional driving permit
- Physical fitness and health
- Must undergo a criminal record check and such a person shall allow their fingerprints to be taken by the Tshwane Metro Police Department at own cost
- Willingness and ability to work shifts
Personal attributes and/or competencies
- Self-driven and having initiative; good communication skills to manage personnel in a specific section; good driving behaviour; cognitive ability to work under pressure; ability to work in a group
Primary functions
- Assist with horticultural development and maintenance of traffic islands, boulevards, cemeteries, sport facility and resorts
- Effectively assist in the management of the team
- Assist in the provision and maintenance of decorative parks and play parks
- Carry out horticultural pest control
- Assist the horticulturist with planning and upgrading parks
- Assist the depot in adhering to policies and occupational health and safety regulations
- Install irrigation in parks
