Sales Representative

Introduction

Pigments & Masterbatches JHB (Pty) Ltd is a leading manufacturer of colour masterbatch and supplier of pigments to the plastics industry. We partner with plastics converters across injection moulding, blow moulding, film extrusion, and pipe/profile manufacturing sectors, providing innovative colour and additive solutions.

We are seeking an energetic and driven Sales Representative with a strong background in technical B2B sales within the plastics industry. This role is ideal for a proactive sales professional who thrives on new business development while building and maintaining long-term customer relationships.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Identify, develop, and secure new business opportunities within the plastics manufacturing sector.

• Manage and grow existing customer accounts through regular client engagement.

• Understand customer colour, pigment, and additive requirements and liaise with the laboratory team regarding colour matching solutions.

• Conduct customer visits and attend production trials at client sites.

• Prepare quotations, negotiate pricing, follow up on opportunities, and successfully close sales.

• Maintain an accurate sales pipeline and provide regular activity reports.

• Monitor customer accounts and assist with collections when required.

• Gather and report market trends, competitor activities, and pricing intelligence.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with plastics converters, manufacturers, and industry stakeholders.

Minimum Requirements

• Matric certificate (essential).

• Minimum 3-5 years' B2B technical sales experience.

• Proven experience within one or more of the following industries:

• Plastics

• Colour Masterbatch

• Pigments

• Additives

• Polymers

• Plastic Raw Materials

• Strong understanding of plastics processing, including:

• Injection Moulding

• Blow Moulding

• Film Extrusion

• Pipe & Profile Manufacturing

• Demonstrated success in new business development and account management.

• Valid driver's licence and own reliable vehicle.

• Verifiable sales track record and references.

Advantageous

• Existing network within the Gauteng plastics industry.

• Tertiary qualification in Polymer Technology, Chemistry, Sales, or a related field.
