- We are seeking an experienced and driven Sales Representative: New Vehicles Commercial Trucks to join our team. Reporting to the Manager: Sales, the ideal candidate will have a proven track record in technical sales, strong prospecting capabilities, and the ability to deliver on unit and profit targets while maintaining company standards and high customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Actively prospect for new business while maintaining and growing existing fleet accounts.
- Drive sales volumes and gross profit targets for new truck inventory.
- Conduct thorough technical consultative sales, including vehicle walk-arounds, specification matching, and test drives.
- Ensure full compliance with company sales policies, the Consumer Protection Act CPA, and local legal requirements.
- Accurately record deal files, register vehicle transactions, and assist with managing aged stock and outstanding debtor/creditor processes.
- Maintain close communication with body builders, upfitters, and internal service teams to ensure accurate on-time vehicle delivery.
- Work closely with the Sales Manager on daily pipeline reviews, promotional activities, and pricing updates.
Skills & Personal Attributes
- Strong negotiation and deal-closing capability.
- Financial acumen relating to vehicle finance, margins, and trade-ins.
- Excellent communication, networking, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work under pressure in a target-driven environment.
- High attention to detail regarding legal paperwork and deal structuring.
Qualifications & Experience
- Grade 12 / Matric certificate.
- Valid Driver's License Code 8 minimum required; Code 10/14 with PDP preferred.
- Clear criminal and credit record.
- Minimum 3 years of technical sales experience preferably within the commercial vehicle, motor industry, or related capital equipment sector.
- Demonstrated volume sales experience and understanding of OEM & dealership processes.
- Working knowledge of CMS or CRM systems
