Sales Representative - Internal/External Role

We are manufacturers of instrumentation and control cables supplying South Africa and Sub-Saharan Africa. We are looking to add an additional sales representative to our team. The ideal candidate does not need to have previous industry experience, rather the ability to sell and communicate well with current customers and potential new customers. A good technical comprehension would be of benefit.

Duties & Responsibilities

Looking after our exisiting customer network in prescribed province as well as cross border. Apart from the sucesssful candidate would be required to travel to neighbouring countries within Sub-Saharan Africa to seek out new business contacts and potential. The position would require setting up meetings and market research from the office followed by going out on planned trips and visits. Taking initiative and cold callin when out seeing customers would be expected.

Following any visit or trips submission of reports to the sales manager would be required.

Desired Experience & Qualification

Requirements for the role include the ability to communicate easily in English and Afrikaans, additional South African languages would be beneficial. Candidates should have their own reliable transport and a valid driver’s license. For travel purposes a valid passport and police clearance are a requirement. Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft programs and computer literacy is required.

Package & Remuneration

Remuneration will be based on experience and mutual negotiation. Apart from a basic salary, an RA will be made available after successfully completing 6 months in the role. A commission structure for sales is part of the package and will be explained. For fuel and expenses, a company credit card will be supplied.
