Our client, a well-established machinery company based in Cape Town, is looking to for an experienced Sales Representative to drive new business and manage key customer accounts within the manufacturing and industrial sector.
The Sales Representative will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, maintaining strong customer relationships, and promoting the company's range of industrial machinery and equipment. This is an external sales role suited to a commercially driven individual with experience selling technical or capital equipment solutions.
Duties & Responsibilities
Develop new business and expand the customer base across the Western Cape and surrounding regions.
Manage and grow relationships with existing clients.
Conduct customer visits to understand operational requirements and recommend suitable machinery solutions.
Prepare quotations, negotiate pricing, and close sales opportunities.
Work closely with the technical and engineering teams to ensure successful project delivery.
Maintain accurate sales forecasts and CRM records.
Represent the company at industry events and exhibitions when required.
Desired Experience & Qualification
Matric.
Tertiary qualification will be advantageous.
3+ years' external sales experience within industrial machinery, capital equipment, engineering, or manufacturing.
Proven track record in business development and achieving sales targets.
Strong technical aptitude with the ability to understand engineered products.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel for client visits.
Experience selling bespoke or project-based equipment solutions.
Ability to engage with engineers, production managers, and business owners.
