Key responsibilities

  • Sales targets are consistently achieved across the allocated territory.
  • Agreed wine listings and distribution targets are successfully implemented and maintained.
  • Every customer receives consistent execution against Meridian standards.
  • Products are available, correctly merchandised and visible at every customer.
  • Customer master data, wine lists, pricing and CRM information remain accurate and current.
  • Promotions, tastings, displays and trade activities are executed to agreed standards.
  • Customer issues are resolved promptly while maintaining strong customer relationships.
  • Sales standards, reporting and SOPs are consistently followed.

How outcomes are delivered

  • Own and achieve daily, weekly and monthly sales targets across the allocated customer base.
  • Secure agreed product listings, increase distribution and maintain approved wine listings across allocated customers.
  • Execute structured customer visits aligned to approved routing plans, call cycles, and territory coverage requirements.
  • Execute customer business plans, promotional programmes, agreed pricing and commercial initiatives across the customer base.
  • Implement approved wine list recommendations, maintain current listings and ensure agreed portfolio standards are executed within customer outlets.
  • Resolve customer enquiries, stock issues, pricing queries and service concerns promptly while maintaining excellent customer satisfaction.
  • Build trusted day-to-day customer relationships through consistent service, responsiveness and execution excellence.
  • Execute every customer visit according to Meridian's approved sales call process.
  • Monitor and maintain shelf health, pricing accuracy, planogram compliance, display standards, and product visibility within outlets.
  • Generate customer orders, process orders accurately and ensure complete order follow-through.
  • Capture customer visits, shelf audits, pricing checks, display photos, order activity, and customer feedback accurately in real time.
  • Maintain accurate customer master data, contact details, outlet information and customer segmentation.
  • Execute promotional campaigns, tastings, displays, POS placement and trade marketing initiatives according to agreed standards.
  • Maintain accurate customer wine list information and ensure approved portfolio changes are implemented.
  • Report competitor activity, pricing, customer feedback and execution opportunities.
  • Ensure proper usage, care, and compliance of handheld devices, sales tools, promotional materials, and operational equipment.
  • Work closely with the Wine Sales Specialist& KAMs to execute premium category initiatives while providing execution feedback.
  • Support the Regional Sales Operations Manager through execution feedback, market intelligence, operational reporting, and issue escalation.
  • Maintain disciplined use of RepForce, TrueData, CRM systems and handheld technology.
  • Adhere to company policies, operational procedures, route compliance requirements, and execution standards consistently.

Education and Experience

  • Grade 12 and an Advantageous Graduate Diploma
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office, handheld sales technology, CRM systems Salesforceetc, pricing audits, merchandising execution, and real-time field reporting.
  • Valid driver's license and legal right to work in South Africa.
