Introduction

Our client, a leading supplier of meat and food products to the catering and hospitality industries, is looking for a Sales Representative to join their dynamic team in Olifantsfontein, near Midrand in JHB.

Candidates with at least one year experience in Sales in the Food Industry, including hotels, restaurants and catering industries would have a benefit.

Duties & Responsibilities

ROUTINE TASKS

  • Call on existing customers, customers on database and potential customers to increase sales and meet targets exceedingly.
  • Promote specials utilizing all means available at disposal to promote products on sale.
  • Upselling or cross selling products and approaching new customers.
  • Issuing/ sending out quotations to potential clients and existing clients.
  • Follow up regularly after closing a sale to ensure client satisfaction.
  • Respond promptly to customer queries and complains to find solution and to defuse  tension.
  • Generating leads.
  • Meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Helping determines pricing schedules for promotions.
  • Preparing weekly reports.
  • Giving sales presentations to a range of prospective clients.
  • Coordinating and liaising with customers, production and dispatch.
  • Understanding and promoting products.
  • Preparing and submitting sales contracts for orders.
  • Visiting clients and potential clients to evaluate needs or promote products.
  • Maintaining client relationships.
  • Answering client questions about credit terms, products, prices and availability.
  • New business development to get new clients on board.
  • Advise clients on best purchases and keep up to date and informed of the current products.
  • Understand customer needs and requirements.
  • Close sales and achieve monthly targets.
  • Maintain GP performance.
  • Various administrative duties.

Desired Experience & Qualification

REQUIREMENTS

  • Matric
  • 1-2 years sales rep experience
  • Computer literate
  • Own transport and a valid drivers' license essential
  • Strong admin skills

Package & Remuneration

R23 000 per month plus commission
