Sales Person - Freight and Courier Services - Freight - Table View

Introduction

Our company is seeking an experienced, target-driven Sales Person to manage and grow an existing customer portfolio while identifying and securing new business opportunities

The successful candidate will represent a globally recognised brand and will be responsible for building strong customer relationships, understanding customer needs, identifying opportunities and providing tailored freight and courier solutions

Duties & Responsibilities

• Manage and grow an existing portfolio of customers while developing new business opportunities

• Identify customer pain points and recommend appropriate freight and courier solutions through consultative selling

• Achieve monthly sales and revenue targets based on previous-year performance with targeted growth expectations

• Build and maintain strong, long-term customer relationships based on trust and excellent service

• Negotiate with customers while protecting the company’s commercial interests

• Conduct customer visits and maintain accurate records of customer interactions

• Prepare and confidently present proposals and solutions to prospective and existing customers

• Maintain regular and accurate updates on CRM and other required sales tools

• Utilise digital communication, analytical tools and online shipping solutions effectively

• Analyse customer and sales data to identify new business opportunities

• Maintain strong awareness of competitors, market trends and industry developments

• Effectively manage time and prioritise a portfolio of existing customers alongside new business development

• Work towards achieving agreed sales and revenue targets

Desired Experience & Qualification

• Travel: Own vehicle required; business kilometres reimbursed at the applicable SARS rate, subject to submission of a detailed log sheet

• Matric / Grade 12

• Proven experience in freight, courier, logistics or a related industry

• Strong sales experience with a proven target-driven approach

• Consultative selling experience with the ability to identify customer needs and recommend solutions

• Strong negotiation and presentation skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Strong relationship-building and customer service abilities

• Good digital and technology competence, including CRM systems and online sales/shipping platforms

• Data-driven approach with the ability to identify opportunities through analysis

• Own reliable vehicle in good condition

• Valid driver’s licence

• Clean criminal record, as representation approval will also be required by DHL

ADVANTAGEOUS

• Afrikaans-speaking ability

• Knowledge and established network within the West Coast area

• Existing experience within the courier, freight or logistics industry

• Strong knowledge of the local customer and business environment
