The Gaia Sales Manager is responsible for driving GAIA’s sales performance across South Africa and selected neighbouring markets. This role sets national and dealer‑level sales targets, develops sales strategies for GAIA models, and ensures strong execution through the dealer network.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and draft annual national sales targets for GAIA, dealer monthly targets, and individual model sales targets, supported by robust sales strategies.
- Develop and execute regional and phased marketing and sales plans for South Africa and neighbouring markets to support GAIA’s growth.
- Monitor monthly sales performance, track dealer achievement against targets, and lead corrective actions for underperforming dealers.
- Collect, analyse, and report on sales‑related information (market trends, dealer performance, pricing, product mix), proposing solutions and driving closure of issues with relevant departments.
- Conduct regular on‑site dealer visits to assess sales execution, brand compliance, and retail standards; develop and oversee remediation and training plans where needed.
- Lead sales operations improvement initiatives, including pricing, campaigns, product mix and volume planning; confirm annual sales plans with dealers and support them in developing sales, marketing and pricing strategies.
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis for GAIA, integrating insights into actionable sales plans and recommendations.
- Collaborate closely with network development, logistics, marketing, and after‑sales to ensure sales objectives and customer experience standards are achieved.
- Provide sales reporting, forecasts, and insights to management, highlighting risks and opportunities for GAIA’s business.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Commerce, or related field.
- 3–5 years’ experience in luxury or premium automotive sales, ideally within an OEM or national distributor environment.
- Proven track record in achieving sales targets and managing dealer performance at a regional or national level.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to translate data into practical sales actions.
- Experience in cross‑functional collaboration (sales, marketing, after‑sales, logistics, network).
Skills and Competencies
- Solid understanding of the South African automotive market and dealer network dynamics.
- Strong negotiation and relationship‑building skills with dealers and internal stakeholders.
- Excellent planning, organisational and follow‑through ability, with strong attention to detail.
- High level of numerical and analytical capability (sales data, market analysis, pricing).
- Strong communication and presentation skills in English; additional local languages an advantage.
- Resilient, results‑oriented, and comfortable working in a fast‑paced, start‑up brand environment.
