Mining Sales Engineers — sell engineered solutions into Rustenburg’s biggest mining operations. Duties & Responsibilities
A growing engineering solutions business is looking for a Sales Engineer to develop new business and grow its presence across the North-West mining sector. This role is ideal for a technically minded salesperson who enjoys being in the field, building relationships and turning customer challenges into commercial opportunities.
Non-Negotiable Requirements
- 3–5 years’ experience in technical sales or business development
- Exposure to the mining, engineering, electrical or industrial sectors
- Strong client relationship and business development skills
- Valid driver’s licence
- Willingness to travel extensively throughout the North-West region
- Strong technical, commercial and communication skills
Job Experience & Skills Required
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within mining operations across the North-West
- Build relationships with mine operations, engineering teams, procurement, contracts and project teams
- Conduct regular site visits and customer meetings
- Understand technical requirements and operational challenges and identify suitable solutions
- Develop and maintain a strong sales and project pipeline
- Prepare and develop commercial proposals and client solutions
- Work closely with technical teams to ensure solutions meet customer requirements
- Assist with tender responses and submissions
- Identify upcoming mining projects and new opportunities within the region
- Monitor competitor activity and market developments
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients
- Drive new project revenue and contribute to overall commercial growth
- A technical qualification in Electrical, Electronic, Automation, Instrumentation or a related engineering field would be advantageous
