Mining Equipment | Spartan, Kempton Park | Permanent About the company My client is a leading provider of mining separation and sorting technology — they design and supply the equipment that crushes, grinds, separates and sorts valuable minerals from ore.

Their clients are mines and mineral processing plants across the industry.

About the role They are looking for an experienced Sales Engineer to sell their capital equipment into the mining and minerals sector. You'll manage the full sales journey — from finding new opportunities and understanding a client's plant needs, through to preparing proposals, negotiating contracts, and closing deals. This is a technical sales role, so you'll need to be just as comfortable talking equipment specs with a plant engineer as you are negotiating terms with a client's commercial team. Duties & Responsibilities

What you'll be doing

  • Meeting annual sales targets and growing revenue year on year
  • Building and managing a strong pipeline of new business, keeping our systems up to date
  • Visiting clients and mine sites to understand their needs and build relationships
  • Putting together technical proposals and costings for large equipment deals
  • Negotiating contracts, including terms, risk, and guarantees on major projects
  • Keeping track of competitors and market trends, and feeding customer insights back to our product team
  • Representing the company at industry events

What you'll need

  • An engineering degree (mineral processing or metallurgy background preferred)
  • 5–8 years of sales experience in mining or process equipment, or a related engineering/consulting environment
  • A proven track record selling large equipment (capital equipment) into mining or minerals processing companies
  • Hands-on knowledge of mineral separation equipment is a strong advantage (things like jigs, dense media separators, or sensor sorting machines)
  • Experience negotiating large equipment contracts and tenders, including pricing, risk, and guarantees
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, and confidence presenting to clients
  • A solid grasp of budgeting and business planning
  • Willingness to travel and spend time on-site, sometimes for extended periods
  • Own vehicle and valid driver's licence
