Non-Negotiable Requirements
- 3–5 years’ experience in technical sales, sales engineering or business development
- Proven exposure to the mining industry
- Background in engineering, electrical, electronic, automation, instrumentation or a related technical environment
- Valid driver’s licence
- Willingness to travel extensively throughout the Northern Cape
Job Experience & Skills Required
- Develop new business across the Northern Cape mining sector
- Identify upcoming projects, tenders and opportunities within mining operations
- Establish relationships with mine engineering, procurement, operational and project teams
- Visit mine sites and engage directly with customers to understand their technical and operational requirements
- Translate customer challenges into suitable engineering solutions
- Develop sales opportunities from initial engagement through to proposal and tender stage
- Work with internal technical teams to develop commercially viable solutions
- Maintain a healthy sales pipeline and provide market intelligence on upcoming projects and competitor activity
- Grow existing customer relationships while actively opening new accounts
- Strong technical understanding combined with a commercial and entrepreneurial approach
- A technical qualification in Electrical, Electronic, Automation, Instrumentation or a related field would be advantageous
