Our client is looking for an energetic, practical, and customer-focused Sales Consultant & Shop Assistant to help establish and grow a new e-bike store in Paarl.
We are looking for someone who enjoys working with people and has a natural flair for sales. The role combines sales, customer service and daily store operations. Duties & Responsibilities
Key Performance Areas and Responsibilities 1. Sales and Customer Service Welcome customers, identify their needs, and recommend suitable e-bikes and accessories. Explain product features, operation, benefits, and basic maintenance requirements. Assist customers with product demonstrations and test rides. Follow up on enquiries, quotations, and sales opportunities via telephone, WhatsApp, and email. Work towards sales targets and actively identify opportunities to generate sales. Build and maintain positive relationships with new and existing customers. Unpack and assemble new e-bikes in accordance with manufacturer guidelines. Perform basic adjustments and safety checks before handing over bicycles to customers, within the scope of training and competence. Ensure that bicycles are presented in excellent condition and are ready for customer collection. Identify potential technical issues and refer complex repairs to the appropriate technician. Assist with receiving, checking, and organising incoming stock. Conduct stock counts and help maintain accurate inventory records. Keep the showroom organised, presentable, and well stocked. Ensure that products and accessories are displayed attractively. Maintain a clean, tidy, and safe store and work area.
Administration and Sales Support Process customer enquiries, quotations, and sales-related documentation accurately. Assist with basic sales administration and record-keeping. Communicate professionally with customers and suppliers via email, telephone, and WhatsApp. Support the day-to-day administrative requirements of the store.
Minimum Requirements A natural aptitude for sales and a genuine enjoyment of working with people. A practical mindset and confidence in using hand tools and performing basic assembly tasks. Good communication skills in both Afrikaans and English. Basic computer literacy and confidence using email, WhatsApp, and sales administration systems. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail. Reliability, punctuality, honesty, and the ability to work independently. Reliable transport and residence in Paarl or the surrounding area. Availability to work Saturdays according to the store roster.
Preferred Experience and Skills Previous experience in bicycle, sporting goods, motorcycle, automotive, or technical retail sales. Basic bicycle assembly, mechanical, or technical experience. Experience in customer service, retail operations, and stock control. An interest in cycling, electric bicycles, and related products.
