Hakki Africa is a South African subsidiary of a Japanese-headquartered fintech and microfinance company operating across Kenya, India and South Africa.We provide vehicle operating leases to Bolt e-hailing drivers, helping drivers access reliable vehicles and increase their earning opportunities.We are looking for a results-driven Sales Consultant who is confident in sales, enjoys engaging with people and can take ownership of generating leads and converting prospective drivers into active Hakki customers.
About the Role
As a Sales Consultant, you will be responsible for growing Hakki Africa's driver customer base by identifying prospective Bolt drivers, generating leads, promoting Hakki's vehicle leasing solutions and converting qualified prospects into successfully onboarded drivers.This is a hands-on sales role that requires someone who can actively generate their own leads, build relationships in the e-hailing community and manage the sales process from the first interaction through to onboarding.You will be expected to work towards clear sales and driver acquisition targets and contribute to the growth of Hakki Africa's fleet and customer base.
Duties & Responsibilities
1. Sales & Driver Acquisition
- Identify and approach potential Bolt drivers who may be interested in vehicle leasing.
- Generate new leads through direct sales, referrals, driver communities, events and other channels.
- Present and promote Hakki Africa's vehicle leasing solutions to prospective drivers.
- Understand each prospect's needs and explain the relevant leasing options, requirements and benefits.
- Qualify prospective drivers according to Hakki Africa's requirements.
- Manage prospects throughout the sales process, from initial contact to successful onboarding.
- Maintain an active pipeline of qualified prospects.
- Achieve agreed sales and driver acquisition targets.
2. Business Development & Market Growth
- Identify new opportunities to increase driver acquisition and fleet utilisation.
- Identify high-potential locations, driver communities and channels for recruitment.
- Build relationships with driver communities and relevant industry networks.
- Develop referral opportunities and potential partnerships.
- Participate in recruitment drives, promotional activities and driver events.
- Conduct market research to understand driver demand, market trends and competitor activity.
- Provide feedback to management on market opportunities and challenges.
3. Customer & Driver Engagement
- Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective and newly onboarded drivers.
- Act as a key point of contact for drivers during the sales and onboarding process.
- Respond professionally to questions and concerns raised by prospective drivers.
- Maintain regular follow-up with prospects until the onboarding process is completed.
- Contribute to increasing Hakki Africa's brand awareness within the e-hailing community.
4. Onboarding & Documentation
- Guide successful prospects through the onboarding process.
- Collect and review required driver documentation.
- Ensure submitted information is complete and accurate.
- Follow up on outstanding documentation and requirements.
- Monitor each prospect's onboarding progress.
- Identify and address issues that may delay successful onboarding.
- Ensure that qualified drivers are successfully progressed through the onboarding process.
5. Sales Reporting & Performance
Track and report on key sales activities and results, including
- Leads generated
- Qualified leads
- Sales conversions
- Driver onboarding conversion rates
- Active drivers recruited
- Sales pipeline performance
- Recruitment and market activities
Desired Experience & Qualification
Education
A Diploma or Degree in
- Marketing
- Sales
- Business Administration
- Or a related field
Experience
- 1–3 years' experience in sales, business development or customer acquisition.
- Experience in automotive, e-hailing, mobility services, fleet leasing or a related industry will be an advantage.
- Proven experience in lead generation, customer engagement and converting prospects into customers.
