The successful candidate will be accountable for delivering sales growth, profitability, market share expansion, business planning, forecasting, distributor management, and technical product support. Detail: Minimum requirements for the role: Must have a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Agronomy, Agriculture, Biology or Plant Sciences; An additional Business, Marketing or MBA qualification is an advantage Minimum 10 years' experience within Crop Protection or Agricultural Inputs Must have a proven track record in Sales, Marketing and Business Development Experience in distributor management is advantageous Strong knowledge of the South African agricultural market Must have experience in budgeting, forecasting and strategic planning Fluency in English (Written and Spoken) Must have a valid drivers license and be willing to travel extensively within South Africa Ability to work within a global matrix organisation The successful candidate will be responsible for: Delivering annual sales, margin, and profitability targets. Developing and managing distributor relationships. Identifying new market opportunities, crops, and sales channels. Negotiating commercial agreements and pricing strategies. Developing annual budgets and a rolling three-year business plan. Preparing accurate sales forecasts. Supporting S&OP and business review processes. Monitoring performance against budget and implementing corrective actions. Defining and implementing the local marketing strategy. Organising product launches, field days, and customer events. Developing product presentations and promotional materials. Generating market intelligence and conducting competitor analyses. Delivering technical and commercial product presentations. Supporting distributors and customers with product positioning. Coordinating with the Regulatory, Development, and Global Marketing teams. Managing technical queries and product claims. Maintaining strong relationships with distributors, growers, industry bodies, and regulatory authorities. Representing the company at industry events and conferences. Ensuring compliance with company policies and local regulations. Promoting the company's values and ethical standards. Achieving annual sales revenue targets against budget. Achieving gross margin targets. Achieving local contribution and profit before tax (PBT) targets. Driving market share growth. Maintaining budget and forecast accuracy. Optimising inventory and working capital performance. Ensuring effective receivables collection performance. Conducting technical events. Achieving successful product launch metrics. Driving lead generation and pipeline development. Maintaining high levels of distributor satisfaction. Driving distributor performance. Generating new business opportunities. Retaining strategic customers. Completing compliance training requirements. Maintaining regulatory and internal audit compliance. Adhering to company processes and reporting deadlines.
