Our client is a well-established supplier of steel and industrial products, serving customers across the mining, manufacturing, construction and engineering sectors.
We are looking for an experienced Sales Administrator who brings both strong internal sales capability and excellent administration skills.
This is a hands-on commercial role where you will manage customer relationships, prepare and follow up on quotations, close sales and identify opportunities to grow existing accounts, while ensuring the administration behind every sale is accurate and efficient.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage internal sales and customer enquiries from quotation through to order
- Prepare, send and follow up on quotations, converting opportunities into sales
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships and identify opportunities for additional sales
- Process sales orders accurately, including checking pricing, product details and availability
- Manage invoicing, sales tracking and the full range of day-to-day sales administration
- Coordinate with internal teams, including warehouse and logistics, to ensure orders are processed and delivered efficiently
- Follow up on outstanding orders, deliveries and customer queries
- Resolve customer issues and ensure a high level of service throughout the sales process
- Maintain accurate customer records, sales documentation and reporting
- Support the sales team with general commercial and administrative requirements
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Completed Matric / Grade 12
- Proven experience in internal sales, with a track record of closing sales and upselling
- Strong sales administration experience, including quoting, invoicing and sales tracking
- Previous experience within mining, steel, manufacturing or construction
- Must be working knowledge of Pastel or similar
- Excellent communication and customer relationship skills
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
