- Our client in the insurance industry is seeking a newly qualified SAIPA Accountant to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven accounting professional to grow their career within a structured financial environment.
NB: Only candidates who have completed SAIPA articles will be considered. Minimum Requirements:
- Completed SAIPA Articles Recently
- Sage experience
- Fully bilingual English & Afrikaans
- Proactive and independent personality
- Great communication skills
Duties/Responsibilities
- Manage monthly accounting functions, including journals, accruals, prepayments and general ledger reconciliations.
- Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports.
- Perform bank, premium, claims, commission and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Process and reconcile insurance premiums, claims and broker commissions.
- Monitor accounts receivable, outstanding premiums and aged debtors.
- Assist with month-end and year-end financial reporting and audit preparations.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
- Prepare and submit VAT, PAYE and other statutory returns.
- Ensure compliance with IFRS, accounting standards and internal financial controls.
- Investigate and resolve financial discrepancies and reconciliation queries.
- Liaise with brokers, clients, auditors and internal stakeholders regarding financial matters.
- Support financial analysis, reporting and process improvements within the finance function.
