Are you an ambitious financial graduate looking for the next step in your accounting career? If yes, then this SAICA Trainee position may be suitable for you. Shift Pursuit is partnering with an accounting firm in Johannesburg, to find an eager-to-learn and quick-thinking individual to join their dynamic team and complete their SAICA training contract.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Audit & Assurance: Assist with external audit procedures, testing, and file compilation across diverse client portfolios
- Financial Statements: Prepare Annual Financial Statements (AFS) using CaseWare in compliance with IFRS / IFRS for SMEs
- Tax Compliance: Assist with corporate and individual tax returns, VAT computations, and SARS eFiling submissions
- Accounting & Bookkeeping: Conduct technical and analytical reviews of accounting records and financial statements
- Client Engagement: Liaise directly with client finance teams to resolve queries and deliver high-quality service
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Completed or currently completing a SAICA-accredited BCom / BCompt degree in Accounting
- CTA / Honours in Accounting (enrolled or completed) is advantageous
- Exposure to CaseWare, SARS eFiling, and accounting software (Xero, Pastel) is beneficial
- Strong analytical, technical, and communication skills
- Valid South African driver's license and reliable transport
