A well-established Accounting & Audit Firm based in Houghton Estate, Johannesburg is seeking a motivated and ambitious SAICA Trainee to join its professional team. This opportunity is ideal for an individual who is committed to qualifying as a Chartered Accountant and is looking to complete their SAICA articles within a professional environment that offers practical exposure and ongoing development. The successful candidate will gain experience across a range of audit and accounting engagements while working closely with experienced professionals.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist with the planning and execution of audit engagements
- Prepare audit working papers and supporting documentation
- Perform substantive testing and analytical procedures
- Assist with the preparation of annual financial statements
- Prepare and maintain accurate client working files
- Liaise with clients to obtain information and supporting documentation
- Identify and communicate audit findings to senior team members
- Assist with accounting and related client engagements where required
- Ensure work is completed accurately and within agreed deadlines
- Work collaboratively with senior team members throughout the training programme
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Studying towards or completed a SAICA-accredited accounting qualification
- Eligible to commence or continue SAICA articles
- Genuine interest in pursuing a career as a Chartered Accountant
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a team
- Comfortable working in a deadline-driven environment
- Strong willingness to learn and develop professionally
