A well-established Advisory and Accounting Firm, based in Bellville, is seeking motivated and committed accounting graduates to join its team through a SAICA, SAIPA or CIMA traineeship. This opportunity is suited to candidates who are looking to build their practical accounting experience within a professional firm environment while working towards their chosen professional qualification. The successful candidates will gain exposure to a range of accounting functions and client portfolios while working alongside experienced professionals.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation and maintenance of financial records
- Perform accounting entries, reconciliations and supporting schedules
- Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts
- Support the preparation of annual financial statements
- Assist with VAT, PAYE and other SARS-related compliance requirements
- Process and review invoices, journals and bank transactions
- Assist with general bookkeeping and accounting duties
- Maintain accurate client records and supporting documentation
- Liaise with clients to obtain relevant financial information when required
- Work closely with senior accountants and managers across various client portfolios
- Gain practical exposure to accounting and financial reporting processes
- Ensure work is completed accurately and within required deadlines
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance or a related field
- Suitable for candidates pursuing or intending to pursue SAICA, SAIPA or CIMA
- Strong foundation in accounting principles
- Good numerical and analytical ability
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a team
- Willingness to learn and develop within a professional accounting environment
- Previous accounting or bookkeeping exposure will be advantageous
