Introduction
An established accounting and auditing firm in Bloemfontein is looking for a motivated SAICA Clerk to join their professional team. This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate or aspiring Chartered Accountant to complete their SAICA articles while gaining valuable practical experience in a supportive and growth-focused environment.
Duties & Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Perform audit fieldwork at client sites.
- Prepare audit working papers and supporting documentation.
- Assist with the preparation of annual financial statements.
- Complete accounting and bookkeeping assignments.
- Prepare and submit tax returns and statutory returns.
- Maintain accurate client records and audit files.
- Liaise professionally with clients and colleagues.
- Ensure compliance with SAICA standards and firm procedures.
- Assist senior staff with various accounting and auditing assignments.
- Perform general administrative duties related to audit and accounting engagements.
Desired Experience & Qualification
Minimum Requirements
- Completed or busy with BCom Accounting degree or equivalent SAICA-accredited qualification.
- Candidates with a completed degree will receive preference.
- Eligible to register for SAICA articles.
- Strong academic record.
- Excellent communication skills in English and Afrikaans (advantageous).
- Computer literate with good knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Strong analytical, numerical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work accurately under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Valid driver's licence and own reliable transport will be advantageous.
