Our client, a leading logistics company, is looking for an experienced Safety Manager to oversee and drive health, safety and compliance across all branches and operational sites.
This is a key leadership position for a safety professional who understands the fast-paced nature of logistics, transport, warehousing and distribution and can ensure that safety standards are consistently implemented across the business.
Duties & Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
• Oversee health and safety practices across all company branches and operational sites.
• Develop, implement and maintain effective health and safety policies, procedures and systems.
• Conduct regular branch, warehouse and operational safety inspections and audits.
• Identify potential hazards and implement corrective and preventative measures.
• Ensure compliance with applicable Occupational Health and Safety legislation, regulations and industry standards.
• Keep the organisation up to date with developments, legislation and best practices relating to logistics, transport and warehousing safety.
• Provide safety training, inductions and awareness programmes to employees at all levels.
• Train and support managers and supervisors in their safety responsibilities.
• Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate safety records, registers, reports and compliance documentation.
• Monitor PPE requirements and ensure appropriate usage across operations.
• Assist branches in preparing for internal and external safety audits.
• Conduct risk assessments and develop appropriate risk-control measures.
• Drive a positive safety culture throughout the organisation.
• Report on safety performance, trends, incidents and areas requiring improvement to senior management.
• Travel between branches as required.
Desired Experience & Qualification
Requirements
• Relevant qualification in Occupational Health & Safety / Safety Management.
• Relevant experience in logistics, warehousing, transport, distribution or a similar operational environment.
• Strong knowledge of South African OHS legislation and safety compliance requirements.
• Experience conducting risk assessments, inspections, audits and incident investigations.
• Proven experience in delivering employee safety training.
• Excellent communication, organisational and leadership skills.
• Ability to work independently and engage effectively with management and operational teams.
• Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel between branches.

R40 000 per month + benefits
