SAEWA (South African Equity Workers Association) is a fast-growing, member-driven union dedicated to serving and protecting the rights of workers. We pride ourselves on professionalism, a non-political stance, and a progressive approach to labour relations. We are seeking a Learner Union Official to join our passionate team.
Key Responsibilities
ulliRepresent and advocate for members in disciplinary hearings, grievances, and workplace disputes./liliAssist with recruitment drives and promote the benefits of SAEWA membership to potential members./liliProvide guidance and support to members regarding labour laws, workplace rights, and union policies./liliBuild and maintain strong relationships with members, employers, and key stakeholders./liliAttend and actively participate in union meetings, workshops, and events./liliMaintain accurate records of member interactions and union activities./li/ul
Requirements
ulliRelevant experience in labour relations, human resources, or a similar environment (experience with unions will be an advantage)./liliStrong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills./liliAbility to work under pressure and handle conflict effectively./liliWillingness to travel and participate in union activities outside normal working hours./liliValid drivers license and reliable vehicle. Not a requirement but will be advantages. /liliKnowledge of labour laws and bargaining council procedures (advantageous)./li/ul
