Brief Description

A leading consulting engineering company is seeking a Roads Design Engineer to join their dynamic team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer to work on a diverse range of road infrastructure projects, from concept and detailed design through to construction support, while working alongside experienced professionals in a collaborative environment. Duties & Responsibilities

Job Description

• Design and develop road and transport infrastructure for a variety of projects

• Undertake preliminary, geometric and detailed road design

• Develop horizontal and vertical road alignments

• Design road drainage, stormwater systems and associated infrastructure

• Prepare engineering drawings, specifications, reports and tender documentation

• Perform engineering calculations and develop practical design solutions

• Coordinate designs with multidisciplinary engineering teams, consultants and contractors

• Conduct site inspections and provide technical support during construction

• Review technical drawings and documentation to ensure design quality and compliance

• Liaise with clients and relevant authorities throughout the project lifecycle

• Ensure designs comply with relevant SANS and municipal/road authority standards

Skills & Experience

• Manage and deliver road design projects from concept through to detailed design

• Ensure projects are delivered within agreed timelines, budgets and quality standards

• Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and technicians

• Coordinate project deliverables with internal and external stakeholders

• Identify and resolve technical design challenges

• Assist with tender preparation, procurement and construction documentation

• Maintain accurate project records and technical documentation

• Minimum 8+ years of experience

Qualification

• BEng/BSc/BTech in Civil Engineering or a related qualification

• Professional registration with ECSA
