Duties & Responsibilities

Your Mission

• Reward Analysis & Benchmarking - Conduct market benchmarking using salary surveys (e.g. Remchannel, PwC, Willis Towers Watson) - Analyse internal pay structures to ensure internal equity and external competitiveness - Support job evaluation processes and grading structures - Provide data-driven insights on pay positioning, cost implications, and trends - Ensure sound and effective financial management practices within the remuneration and benefits portfolio

• Salary Review & Incentive Support - Timeous execution of the annual remuneration and benefits calendar (bonus, audit support, increases, REMCO, grading, expatriate processing, ad-hoc Group requests, etc.) - Support annual salary review and bonus processes (modelling, simulations, and validation) - Prepare reward costing scenarios and affordability analysis - Assist with short-term incentive (STI) and long-term incentive (LTI) calculations and audits - Ensure accurate application of reward policies and frameworks

• Payroll Processing - Ensure accurate and timely payroll inputs in line with the monthly payroll calendar and cut-off dates - Validate payroll data including salaries, allowances, overtime, bonuses, and deductions before submission - Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to ensure all employee changes (appointments, terminations, transfers, increases) are correctly reflected in payroll - Reconcile payroll reports and identify, investigate, and resolve discrepancies prior to finalisation - Ensure compliance with statutory requirements including PAYE, UIF, SDL, and other applicable deductions - Support payroll audits by preparing documentation and responding to audit queries - Maintain accurate payroll records, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality at all times - Provide support in resolving payroll-related queries from employees, HRBPs, and management - Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes, controls, and reporting

• Reward Governance & Compliance - Ensure reward practices comply with South African labour and tax legislation (e.g. BCEA, Income Tax Act, PAYE) - Support pay equity and equal pay for work of equal value analysis - Maintain reward documentation, structures, and audit trails - Support regulatory and internal audits relating to reward - Act as the custodian of all HR policies

• Data, Reporting & Insights - Develop and maintain reward dashboards and reports - Analyse trends in remuneration, benefits, turnover, and cost-to-company - Update calculators timeously and/or as requested - Provide insights to HRBPs and leadership to inform people decisions - Support remuneration committee reporting in the timeous compilation of the REMCO pack

• Stakeholder Support - Act as a subject-matter support to HRBPs on reward queries - Support managers with offer benchmarking and pay recommendations - Respond to employee reward-related queries with clarity and consistency

Your profile

  • Degree in HR, Finance, Economics, Statistics, or related field
  • Post-graduate qualification is essential
  • SARA registration advantageous
  • 5 years or more of experience in reward, remuneration, or HR analytics
  • Exposure to salary surveys and job evaluation systems
  • Knowledge of South African reward and tax legislation
  • Working knowledge of payroll systems, processes and practices
  • Proficient in SAP
  • Valid South African drivers license
