A leading client within the retail sector is seeking for an experienced and dedicated Retail Supervisor to join their team in Phoenix Industrial Park, Durban . The successful candidate will support the Senior Manager in overseeing daily retail operations, managing staff performance and ensuring efficient workflow within a fast-paced retail environment. The ideal candidate must have previous supervisory experience, strong leadership abilities, and knowledge of HR processes, IT systems, and payroll administration . The successful candidate will receive on-site training and guidance on specific job functions. Duties & Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Senior Manager with daily retail operations and staff management.
- Supervise, guide and support employees to ensure productivity and performance standards are maintained.
- Allocate duties and monitor completion of tasks.
- Manage staff attendance, leave records and employee-related queries.
- Assist with HR-related processes, including employee documentation and disciplinary matters.
- Support payroll administration by ensuring accurate staff information and timesheets.
- Provide assistance with IT systems and resolve basic system-related queries.
- Train and mentor employees on operational procedures.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and workplace standards.
- Monitor customer service standards and operational efficiency.
- Assist with stock control, merchandising, and store presentation.
- Prepare reports and provide feedback to management.
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum 1-year supervisory experience , preferably within the retail sector.
- Diploma or Degree in Human Resources Management or a related field (advantageous/essential) .
- Experience supervising and managing a team in a high-volume retail environment.
- Knowledge of HR procedures, payroll processes, and basic IT systems.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to manage staff performance, attendance, and daily operations.
- Good administrative and organisational skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Additional Information
- The successful candidate will report directly to the Senior Manager.
- Training and support will be provided on-site to ensure the candidate is fully equipped with the required job functions.
