About the Opportunity

Our client, an established and well-respected fashion retailer, is seeking an experienced, passionate, and results-driven Store Manager to lead one of its boutique stores. This opportunity is ideal for a confident retail leader with a strong background in fashion retail, excellent people management skills, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. Duties & Responsibilities

Purpose of the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall performance and day-to-day operations of the store. This includes driving sales, leading and developing the team, delivering exceptional customer service, maintaining visual merchandising standards, and ensuring operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Business Performance

  • Achieve and exceed monthly sales and profitability targets.
  • Drive sales through exceptional customer service and proactive selling.
  • Analyse daily, weekly, and monthly sales performance and implement improvement strategies.
  • Monitor key retail KPIs, including conversion rate, average transaction value, units per transaction, and customer retention.
  • Identify opportunities to increase sales through product knowledge and styling recommendations.
  • Build customer loyalty and encourage repeat business through outstanding service.

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead, motivate, and inspire the store team to achieve individual and store targets.
  • Recruit, train, coach, and develop employees to maximise performance.
  • Conduct performance reviews and provide ongoing coaching and feedback.
  • Foster a positive, energetic, and customer-focused team culture.
  • Manage staff rosters, attendance, leave, and productivity.
  • Ensure the team maintains a professional appearance and delivers exceptional customer service.

Customer Experience

  • Deliver a premium shopping experience for every customer.
  • Build long-term customer relationships through personalised service.
  • Resolve customer queries and complaints professionally and efficiently.
  • Encourage proactive customer engagement and relationship building.
  • Ensure every customer leaves the store with a positive shopping experience.

Visual Merchandising

  • Maintain high visual merchandising standards in line with company guidelines.
  • Ensure the store remains clean, organised, and visually appealing.
  • Implement promotional displays, seasonal campaigns, and window displays.
  • Ensure merchandise is correctly priced and displayed.

Stock Management

  • Manage inventory accurately and efficiently.
  • Conduct regular stock counts and investigate discrepancies.
  • Monitor stock levels and coordinate replenishment requirements.
  • Minimise stock losses through effective stock control procedures.
  • Ensure deliveries are processed accurately and timeously.

Store Operations

  • Oversee the daily operation of the store.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Manage cash handling, banking, and point-of-sale procedures.
  • Complete all store administration accurately and on time.
  • Maintain health and safety standards.
  • Open and close the store according to operational procedures.

Marketing & Brand Execution

  • Ensure in-store campaigns and promotions are executed to company standards.
  • Support national marketing initiatives.
  • Encourage customer engagement with loyalty programmes and digital platforms.
  • Assist with local marketing activities where appropriate.

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum 3–5 years' management experience within the fashion retail industry.
  • Proven experience leading a high-performing retail team.
  • Strong track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
  • Excellent leadership, coaching, and people management skills.
  • Passion for fashion, styling, and delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Strong visual merchandising experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Computer literate with experience using retail POS systems.
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work retail hours, including weekends and public holidays.
  • Valid South African ID.
  • Reliable transport will be advantageous.
