Retail Store Manager (Strictly Cosmetic Industry)

Introduction

We are seeking an experienced, energetic, and customer-focused Store Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of a retail store based at  Pretoria.  The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring smooth store operations, delivering excellent customer service, managing staff performance, maintaining stock levels, and driving sales and profitability Experience in Korean cosmetics (K-Beauty), skincare, beauty retail, or a related industry will be highly advantageous.

Duties & Responsibilities

Store Operations

• Take overall responsibility for the daily operation and performance of the store.

• Ensure the store is clean, organised, well-presented, and operates according to company standards.

• Open and close the store as required.

• Ensure company policies, procedures, and operational standards are consistently followed.

• Monitor daily sales and store performance against targets.

• Handle operational issues and customer complaints professionally.

Staff Management

• Supervise, manage, and motivate store employees.

• Prepare and manage staff schedules and working hours.

• Allocate daily duties and ensure adequate staffing levels.

• Monitor employee performance, attendance, punctuality, and conduct.

• Provide coaching and training to staff members.

• Ensure employees maintain high standards of customer service and product knowledge.

• Assist with recruitment and onboarding of new employees when required.

Sales & Customer Service

• Drive sales and achieve monthly and daily sales targets.

• Deliver exceptional customer service and ensure a positive shopping experience.

• Develop strong relationships with customers and encourage repeat business.

• Monitor sales trends and identify opportunities to improve store performance.

• Ensure staff are knowledgeable about products and able to provide appropriate recommendations.

Stock & Product Management

• Monitor stock levels and ensure products are adequately stocked.

• Conduct and oversee regular stock counts.

• Monitor stock receiving, transfers, returns, and discrepancies.

• Minimise stock losses, damages, and shrinkage.

• Ensure products are correctly displayed, labelled, and merchandised.

• Monitor product expiry dates where applicable.

• Identify fast-moving and slow-moving products and report accordingly.

Visual Merchandising

• Maintain attractive and effective product displays.

• Ensure promotional materials and campaigns are implemented correctly.

• Keep shelves, displays, and promotional areas neat and fully stocked.

• Ensure the store consistently reflects the brand's image and standards.

Administration & Reporting

• Complete daily and weekly store reports.

• Monitor sales, stock, staff performance, and other relevant store KPIs.

• Manage cash-up procedures and ensure accurate handling of store transactions.

• Report operational issues, stock discrepancies, and other concerns to management.

• Maintain accurate store records and documentation.

Compliance & Loss Prevention

• Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable workplace regulations.

• Monitor store security and minimise theft and stock losses.

• Ensure proper cash-handling procedures are followed.

• Maintain a safe and professional working environment.

Desired Experience & Qualification

• Matric / Grade 12.

• Previous experience in retail management, store management, or a supervisory position .

• Strong leadership and people-management skills.

• Excellent customer service and communication skills.

• Good numerical and administrative abilities.

• Strong organisational and time-management skills.

• Ability to work retail hours, including weekends and public holidays.

• Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office.

• Ability to work under pressure and meet sales targets.

• Experience in Korean cosmetics / K-Beauty .

• Experience in skincare, cosmetics, beauty, fashion, or premium retail.

• Previous experience managing a high-volume retail store.

• Experience with stock management and point-of-sale systems.

• Knowledge of Korean skincare and beauty products.

• Strong product knowledge and an interest in beauty and skincare trends.
