Retail Sales Representative – Durban Duties & Responsibilities

Our Client is currently looking for an experienced Retail Sales Representative based in Durban

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

They are looking for someone who already knows the retail environment — someone who can walk into a store, knows who to speak to, understands the pressures on the retail floor and can turn relationships into sales and measurable results .The successful candidate must have hands-on experience calling on major retail stores , with strong existing relationships and an understanding of how to drive sales, secure orders and improve in-store execution.

KEY ACCOUNTS Experience working with one or more of the following is essential :

• Massmart – Game / Makro, Pick n Pay, Checkers / Shoprite Group

Remuneration : R13 000 - R16 500 + Commission Neg depending on experience Basic, Cell phone, Petrol card, prov is optional

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage an allocated retail store portfolio and structured call cycle.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with Store Managers, Department Managers and relevant buyers .

• Drive sales, orders and product ranging within stores.

• Identify opportunities to increase sales and distribution.

• Monitor stock levels, pricing, promotions and merchandising standards .

• Ensure excellent in-store execution and product visibility .

• Conduct regular store visits and provide feedback on opportunities, challenges and competitor activity.

• Follow up on orders, stock availability and customer requirements.

• Achieve monthly and annual sales targets.

• Submit accurate sales reports and maintain customer records.

• Work independently while maintaining consistent communication with management.

MUST-HAVE REQUIREMENTS Proven retail sales experience

• Current experience calling on Massmart, Pick n Pay and/or Checkers

• Strong understanding of retail store operations and buying structures

• Existing relationships within major retail accounts will be highly advantageous

• Proven track record of achieving sales targets

• Strong negotiation and communication skills

• Valid driver's licence and Own reliable vehicle – no older than 5 years old

• Willingness to travel throughout the territory

• Computer literate

• Able to work independently and manage a structured call cycle

• Must reside in Durban
